sharehtml.org is an intermediary under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, as amended with effect from 20 February 2026.

Timelines
- Acknowledgement of a complaint: within 24 hours.
- Resolution of a complaint: within 7 days.
- Complaints about prohibited content under Rule 3(1)(b): within 36 hours.
- Removal on a court order or government notice under Rule 3(1)(d): within 3 hours.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery or impersonation under Rule 3(2)(b): within 2 hours.
- User registration information and records of removed content are retained for 180 days.
Users are reminded at least once every three months that breaching the terms or the acceptable use policy can lead to removal of content, suspension or termination, and reporting to authorities where required.

Send notices to dmca@sharehtml.org. A designated agent registration with the US Copyright Office is in progress; this address is the agent contact.
Notice
- Identify the copyrighted work.
- Give the exact sharehtml.org URL of the page you believe infringes.
- Include your name, address, email and, if applicable, who you represent.
- State that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law.
- State, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and you are authorised to act.
- Sign it (typed name is fine).
On a complete notice we remove or disable the page, notify the uploader if we can reach them, and keep a record.
Counter-notice
- Identify the removed page by URL.
- State, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Give your name, address, email, and consent to the jurisdiction of the courts in Pune, India (or, for US residents, your federal district) and to service of process from the complainant.
- Sign it.
We forward the counter-notice to the complainant. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action, we restore the page 10 to 14 business days after receiving the counter-notice.
Repeat infringers lose access.
EU Digital Services Act
For users in the European Union, sharehtml.org operates a notice-and-action mechanism under Article 16. Report illegal content at /report or by email to legal@sharehtml.org, giving the URL, why the content is illegal, and your name and email. We confirm receipt, decide without undue delay, and tell you the outcome and how to contest it.
Single point of contact for authorities and recipients (Articles 11 and 12): legal@sharehtml.org, in English. The designation of an EU legal representative under Article 13 is under review.
Content moderation practices are described in the acceptable use policy and in limits.
UK Online Safety Act
Complaints from UK users about illegal content go to abuse@sharehtml.org. An illegal-content risk assessment is maintained and available to Ofcom on request.
Governing law and venue
These notices, the terms, the privacy policy and the acceptable use policy are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Pune, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction.
